SURRENDERING YOUR BASSET HOUND

If you are considering the surrender of your basset hound, please complete the following form and someone will contact you. We also ask that you upload a photograph of your hound.

We are not able to accept all surrender applicants.

We rely on foster care for our dogs. If we accept your application but a foster home is not available for your dog, we may ask that you keep the dog until an opening occurs.

If we are able to accept your dog, we ask that you provide any medical records, microchip information, registration papers, and other documents.

We require that your dog is current on all vaccinations before we accept him or her. Please be prepared to provide proof of vaccination prior to delivery of your dog. You can fax that information to us at (505) 341-0519.

We also ask that upon acceptance of your surrender, you make plans to deliver your dog to us at an appointed time and place. We are unable to pick up your dog.

When surrendering your dog, and if you are able, we request small donation be made to cover additional medical care and housing costs the dog may require. This is not required, but it is greatly appreciated.

If we accept your dog, you will be asked to sign a release form, legally transferring ownership of the dog to All Ears Basset Sanctuary. If you are keeping your dog until a foster home becomes available, you will still be asked to sign this form so that All Ears may provide any medical care or training.
